Quote #82, My Thoughts and YOUR thoughts

I love Quotes. I love them because they make me think. What does the quoter mean? Why did he/she write this? Is there a message to get through to the reader/the world? What did YOU initially think when you read it?

Here goes blog quotes #82....

"When I first open my eyes upon the morning meadows and look out upon the beautiful world, I thank God I'm alive."

-Ralph Waldo Emerson-

When I first read this, the proverbial 'light bulb' went off. WOW! I have read hundreds of different quotes and more than several books on the subject of Gratitude. None however, have smacked me in the face as this one did.

Did you ever say to yourself.. 'When I go to bed at night and close my eyes, what guarantee do I have that my eyes will open in the morning'? It's similar to getting your wisdom teeth pulled and you get a shot of anesthesia. When you sign that consent form, the thought HAS to cross your mind, that you may never wake up from the surgery.

The one thing we all can be fairly certain of, is the sun rising in the morning. The question is... will YOU and I be rising with it? After reading Emerson's quote, I have a whole new outlook and attitude towards gratitude. How about you?

That's my view....... What say YOU?

I LOVE this quote because , it is only by the grace of God that we are given each new day, with a clean slate! I try to live each day to the fullest with a keen eye on all the blessings of each day. With all of the negative in the world, it is easy to get caught yup and add to it. It is a gift to be able to feel completely blessed and grateful for another day of life. Thats what makes RICH living...

That quote, Tim, was one of the best quotes I've ever heard. I, too, love quotes...I've often thought of writing a book of quotes someday. These thoughts of others make you sometimes think of things you never would have thought about unless they had put it into words for you. Everyday when I wake up, I thank the Lord I am alive too. I was supposed to die as an infant... so each day is an extra blessing to me. Thank you for the beautiful quote to start my day!
