Blog Quote #516...

Here's Blog Quote #516...
"Every day is a good day-- to do something you've never done before. Especially when you dream of LIVING, like you've never lived before. Prepare thy way."
-The Universe-

Trying something new?
Scary isn't it?  You bet

Outside your comfort zone?  Yes.
That's a good thing.

This is where learning and growing begins to happen.

Go for it.. Everything is going to be OK-- Really!
And don't forget to enjoy the ride

Here's Blog #515

Here's Blog Quote #515...
There is no such thing on earth as an uninteresting subject; the only thing that can exist is an uninterested person.
-G.K. Chesterton-

This is so true. The other day my family and I attended a Memorial day parade. We were a bit tired from the previous 2 days activities. There was quite a bit going on, yet, listening to my daughter talk to a friend.. "We didn't stay long, it was a bit boring."

It wasn't the party that was boring. It was US. We just weren't into it.

They often say when people are bored it's because they themselves are boring. Maybe not in life, but during that moment. We-- are responsible for bringing life to wherever we go. Next time someone says things are boring... put a mirror in front of them.

HMMM .

Blog Quote #514...

Here's Blog Quote #514...
"I've always known I was gifted, which is not the easiest thing in the world--for a person to know.
Here's why-- Because you're not responsible for your gift, only what you do with it."
-Hazel Scott-

What a superb point, Ms Scott!
So we arent responsible for HAVING the gifts we have--but we are responsible for UTILIZING them to their fullest potential.

Waste is a terrible thing.
Don't waste what you have. Eessh---what others would give,  for what we have...

Blog Quote #513

Here's Blog Quote #513...
"A wedding anniversary is the celebration of love, trust, partnership, tolerance and tenacity. The order varies for any given year."
-Paul Sweeney-

Found this in a humorous book.
It seems that this quote could be taken as either funny or serious and-- more true than one thinks.

Apparently, if it can swing either way, it's an ambidextrously awesome quote!
Good stuff.

Blog Quote #512

Here's Blog Quote #512...
"Conversation means being able to disagree, and still continue the conversation."
-Dwight MacDonald-

Ever stop to think how irksome life would be if we all agreed on everything? If each person thought the same thing. Funny how like thinking  brings us to a common place with another man--yet if it happened all the time, how mundane.

It's a pretty big world out there. There is so much to see, learn, and experience. And all those different experiences are what makes up people's thoughts, beliefs, and opinions.

Embrace a nice discussion. Discussions are two people talking back and forth. One talks, the other listens. They alternate. Discussions are not arguments/ disagreements. They may include arguments and disagreements, yet people should, as Mc Donald suggests, be able to have differences of opinions and carry on the conversation/ discussion.

Leave home and pay your own way, while you still know everything."

Blog Quote #510

Here's Blog Quote #510...
"Say not you know another entirely, til you have divided an inheritance with him."
Johan Kasper Lavater, 1741-1801-

Unfortunately, money reveals much about people, and many times, not their best qualities.
Sad--- but true.

Blog Quote #509

Here's Blog Quote #509...
"The man who backbites an absent friend, nay, who does not stand up for him when another blames him, the man who angles for bursts of laughter and for the repute of a wit, who can invent what he never saw, who cannot keep a secret--that man is black at heart: mark, and avoid him."
-Cicero, 106BC- 43 BC-

Pick your friends wisely.
Quite a bit said here, yet it's dead square on point.

Blog Quote #508

Here's Blog quote #508...
"Men of ill judgment oft ignore the good that lies within their hands, till they have lost it."
-Sophocles, 496-406 BC-

This advice sound familiar to anyone? You don't know what you have 'til it's gone. Or better yet.. you don't fully appreciate what you have until it's no longer there.

Always amazing, that what we find as resilently true today, was stated by a man of Sophocles nature--over 2400 years ago!

Take a look around, notice all that you posess, and give a bit of gratitude for it -today.
Repeat tomorrow.
From there on...re-read this advice daily.

Blog Quote #507

Heres Blog Quote #507...
"Being awesome, is the best revenge."
-Notsalmon.com-

When I read this-- I immediately thought of going about your business with performance, skill, and results.

Let that do your talking for you.
Remain professional at all times, and don't stoop to the 'revenge' level.
Funny thing about retailiation in spite---Outside you may feel better but inside-- you won't.

Blog Quote #506

Here's Blog Quote #506...
I'm proud of you for the times you came in second, third or fourth, but also because what you did was the BEST you have ever done."
-Fred Rogers-

Here is a comment that is just plain not said nearly enough to all people who compete. Parents, coaches, friends... listen up here.

An important lesson to be learned frorm our old friend from the neighborhood, Mr Rogers.
Thanks Fred.

Blog Quote #505

Here's Blog Quote #505...
Teaching a child not to step on a caterpillar, is as valuable to the child as it is to the caterpillar."
-Bradley Miller-

WOW.. if Miller is correct, then this must be extremely valuable.
As in life or death valuable.
To the caterpillar, its squuiisshh into and onto the next life, so to it- it's as important as it gets.

Thus.. it must be pretty important to the child as well. And we AGREE THAT IT IS.
It's all about respect for life, for our fellow creatures on the planet, and for nature.

Its also an exercise in curiosity.
Abuse of power.
Killing innocent things.
Co- existing and getting along with others.

We are likely scratching the surface on the amount of life lessons available here--
Lessons that could go into having a discussion with a youngster on the value of not wiping out a soon to be beautiful butterfly, with one step.

So as Crosby, Stills, and Nash once sang, "Teach-- your children well..."

Blog Quotes # 503 and 504

Here's Blog Quotes #503 and 504...

A double today, as these 2 quotes intertwine a bit...

#503...
"Those who don't manage their money well, are no better off than those who don't have money to manage."
-Sean Evans, Dream Manager-

#504...
Those who don't read great books/ any books, are at no advantage over those who cannot read at all."
-Mark Twain-

Two great quotes with the same message:
Read.
And manage your money well.

On the money--- if you don't know how to, learn or get some assistance. Don't waste it away.
On reading--- there are so many benefits to reading, that it's a crime and a shame for those who can, and choose not to.

Blog Quote #502

Here's Blog Quote #502...
"People count up the faults of those who are keeping them waiting."
-French proverb-

Oh my... how true is this!

Where is he?
Why is she always late?
Isn't that rude?
It makes us look bad by holding us up.. where are her manners?
Is he really that unorganized, that he always has to be late.
Doesn't she respect anyone else's time but her own?

Is that what people are really thinking? On second thought, I better be more on time, in the future.
HMMM...
