Blog Quote #544

Here's Blog Quote #544...
"You don't get to choose how you are going to die. Or when.
You can only decide how you are going to live, now."
-Joan Baez-

This one of those self explanatory statements, that really causes one to stop and think.
And it's darn true.

We certainly cannot control the former, but we darn well can take charge of HOW WE LIVE.
This one is right in the palm of our hands and minds!

Live life. Now.
If not-- what the heck are you waiting for?

Blog Quote #543

Here;'s Blog Quote #543...
"A man who wants to lead the orchestra must turn his back on the crowd."
-James Crook-

Interesting comments here by Mr Crook. Not 100% certain his meaning behind the quote but here's how I interpreted it:

For leaders to be leaders  they have to do what they think is right and what has to be done.
They cannot be so concerned with public opinion (hence 'turning their back' and leading by example and wisdom).

Pretty solid advice, if I'm correct,  on the translation of the quote.
As always at the Smile Therapy Think Tank, we fully understand--that all quotes are subject to everyone's own interpretation, so we want to know what you thought here.
Thus our standard closing...

Blog Quote #542

Here's Blog Quote #542...
"Spectacular achievements are always preceded by unspectacular preparation."
 -Roger Staubach-

Totally unflashy and unexciting--yet--very prophetic!

It's the cold hard truth, that behind the doors of success, lie tons of hard work, sweat and relentless preparation.

Anyone attempting to tell you otherwise, should be asked to take a polygraph test.

Blog Quote #541

Here's Blog quote #541...
"Most men believe that it would benefit them if they could get a little more from those who have more. How much more would it benefit them if they would learn a little from those who know more."
-William J.H. Boetcker-

I believe what Mr Boetcker is stating here-- is that knowledge trumps money and material things every time.

I happen to agree.
How about you?

Blog Quote #540

Here's Blog quote #540...
The more concerned we become over the things we CAN'T control, the less we will do with the things we CAN control."
-Coach John Wooden-

We love this quote because its so simple, and logical.
So... the point here is- if you can't control it, stop worrying about it.
No stress from things that you cannot impact in any way.

Concentrate, do the best you can, and focus all your efforts-- on things that you can have a profound effect on.
Just more brilliance, yet simplistic wisdom-- from the Coach.

Blog Quote #539

Here's Blog Quote #539...
A good scare is worth more than good advice."
-Ed Howe-

This plays into the hands of the old adage  "Actions speak louder than words."
People can talk all they want and give great advice... however the listener may not act, or pay real close attention -- until something monumental happens.

Not saying it's right or wrong. Unfortunately -that's kind of how humans are. The wisest of men try to pay a tad more attention-- but still sometimes a scary event is the catalyst  needed for action to be taken.

Blog Quote #538

Here's Blog Quote #538...
"To make headway, improve your head."
-B.C.  Forbes-

Simply, straightforward, solid advice.
Makes sense doesn't it?

Is there a better place to start-- than your mind?
Good thoughts bear good fruit and bad thoughts reap negative  results/rewards.
Let's not make it more complicated than that!

Blog Quotes #536 and 537

Here's Blog Quote #536...
"Life is full of ups and downs. The trick is to enjoy the ups and have courage during the downs."
-Anonymous-

Anyone agree?
Anyone disagree?
We all have our share of good and bad that happens to us. Some have a heavier burden to carry... but then again, that's opinion based.

What is factual-- is that it's not what happens to us, but how we choose to handle what comes our way, that makes the difference. And that attitude-- makes all the difference in the world.

Which brings us to quote #537...
"There is little difference in people, but that little difference makes a big difference. The little difference is attitude. The big difference is whether it is positive or negative."
-W.Clement Stone-

Get your attitude in check, and the rest comes rather easy.

Blog Quote #535

Here's Blog Quote #535...
"If you do the best you can, you will find, nine times out of ten, that you will have done as well, or better, than anyone else."
-William Feather-

This quote is sad, yet exciting.

Sad in a sense, that few people ever give it their best.
Exciting in that if you do, you'll likely feel great about yourself, and at the same time- stand out from the crowd, in a very positive way.

Here's to all-- that give it their all!

(Thanks to Mr. Feather-- for yet another brilliant observation, put into words)
