When to stay QUIET...

blog quote #715..
"Blessed is he who-- having nothing to say, abstains from giving evidence of that fact."
-George Eliot-

That one got a laugh out of us, as well as send us pondering. Wow--there is some good wisdom in that little jest.

Why we Shouldn't complain...

blog quote #714

"I found out that it's not good to talk about my troubles. Eighty percent of the people, who hear them don't care-- and the other twenty percent are glad you're having them."
-Tommy Lasorda, LA Dodgers manager-

This came across quite humorous to me. Also, often times in life-when there is humor, satire, sarcasm or jest--it comes with a hint of truth as well.

How about you?

a CRISPER, VIVID vision-- of Life

(blog quote #713)
"The more sand that has escaped through the hourglass of our life, the clearer we should see through it."  -by that famous author,  A. Nonymouse--

Perhaps it is wisdom?
Maybe it is by necessity, that, as our lives draw closer to the final bell and the reality of our mortality sets in...we are forced to 'figure some things out.'

It's certainly more urgent and important- to figure out where we might be going next. Just like anything else in life, that old song sums it up best  "You don't know what you've got 'til it's gone"--including life.

As more and more sand sifts through, cram sessions begin for that final exam. Some are fearful and others excited for what lies ahead. Nothing like a little extra CLARITY.

Do you MATTER?

(blog #712)

"If your presence doesn't make an impact, then your absence won't make a difference."
-Anonymous-

A wonderful quote that moves the fingers to the chin. Hmm...
What are you bringing to the table, today?

New Strategy for Happy Wives? BQ #711

"Only two things are necessary to keep one's wife happy. One is to let her think she is having her own way, and the other... to let her have it."
 -Lyndon B. Johnson-

It's a Sunday, I'm at work and I found this for a quick chuckle. Not necessarily endorsing the former US president's strategy, but certainly brought some levity to the day.

On MOTIVATING Ourselves...BQ #710

"I've always felt it was not up to anyone else, to make me give my best."
-Akeem Olajuwon, former NBA basketball star-

How great is this quote, comment, and BELIEF?  Akeem is basically saying he doesn't need anyone else to get him fired up.  Reminds me of the old line---'If it is to be, it's up to me.'

Mr Olajuwon is taking full responsibility, charge, accountability and motivate-ability(made up word)--to bring himself to the table, in full force.

What a great message for others to partake in.

On Doing the Right Thing... BQ#709

"The truth of the matter is- that you always know the right thing to do. The hard part is doing it."
-General Norman Schwarzkopf-

The General is suggesting that we know in our GUT what is right and what is not right. Why then...would we ever choose the wrong thing?

Convenience, pressure, greed, path of least resistance, temptation, and evil, are just a few reasons. Perhaps we don't always know, but Schwarzkopf is probably much more correct than wrong. And no reason to pretend we didn't know what to do.

No one said doing the right thing was simple. Perhaps we all can try just a little bit harder?
Hmm...
