Blog Quote #621...

Here's Blog Quote #621...
"I would not ever say "Why are you angry?" or "I'm sorry that it's upsetting." What I would say is "What are you going to do about it?"
-An Old Irish grandfather-

Sounds like some old fashioned wisdom of--Stop complaining and do something about it. Nothing gets done by whining and expending negative energy. Instead, turn your efforts and positive energy- into solving the issue at hand.

We love that straightforward, cut to the chase, tough wisdom-- from years ago.

Blog Quote #620...

Here's Blog Quote #620...
"The universe is full of magical things-- patiently waiting for our wits to grow sharper."
-Eden Phillpotts-

Smelling salt anyone?

Look around--the world TRULY IS- full of magical happenings, stuff, and action.

I believe Mr Phillpotts is telling us-- that we need to pay a bit more attention to our surroundings.
Get off auto-pilot. Stop going through the motions of life.Take a renewed, vigorous, excited look- at all around.

Perhaps once we heighten our senses up a few notches, we will see a whole new world. Or, if nothing else, we'll be a witness to more miracles, magical events, and wondrous occurrences.

How did you read what Phillpotts was trying to say here?

Blog Quote #619...

Here's Blog Quote #619...
"If you want to have an impact on someone else, it's more important to be interested than interesting."
-Barbara Jordan-

Question:
What do you find more impactful...?

1.)You find someone interesting.
That's pretty cool. Kind of neat. Catches your attention.

2.)You find someone interested in you.
Wow-they really cared about me, and what I had to say?
Man, I really enjoyed that person and them taking an interest in ME.

Chances are, most people feel the same way.
Interesting is good. Interested is light years better.

Blog Quote #618...

Here's Blog Quote #618...
"You're never as good as they say you are--and you're never as bad as they say you are."
-George Clooney-

In other words--

There is no need for cockiness.
On the flip side--don't get all caught up in despair, or too bummed out--of a critic or two.

Life has a peculiar way-- of picking you up when you are down and out. It also can kick you in the teeth with sudden power, when you are riding high as a kite.

Moderation in everything, friends.

Blog Quote #617...

Here's blog quote #617...
"If a decision needs to be made, make it. It gives you more time to change your mind."
-James Watson, American scientist-

A couple of quick points:

~ ~ First, indecision or procrastination rarely ever produces quality and value.
~ ~ Second, idleness has killed many a project, invention, or progress.  Just get in motion.
~ ~ Thirdly, once a decision has bee made, things happen. However it can be changed.

While Watson may have been attempting some humor in this quote, it has merit. Ever notice how once a decision has been made--tensions and stress seem to subside? That's always a good thing.

Blog Quote #616...

Here's Blog Quote #616...
"If you cant explain it to a six year old, you don't understand it yourself."
-Albert Einstein-

Simplify.

Quite ironic that the man whose name is synonymous with genius, and who could run circles around most human brains-- is telling us all to S-I-M-P-L-I-F-Y.
Everything that we comprehend and understand-- can be brought down to a 2nd graders level of comprehension.

We suggest that everyone takes Einstein's 'advice' and transfer messages with clarity, conciseness and ease of understanding. It would be great for improved communication--across the planet. And who can't benefit from better communication?

Simplify.

Blog Quote #615

Here's Blog Quote #615...
"Hope--that's what I have for breakfast, every morning."
-'El Duque' Hernandez, cuban baseball player-

Can you think of a more mentally fortified, nutritional breakfast than that?
Yum Yum. Delicious and tasty--for the mind!

We suggest that everyone add a little of El Duque's recipe-- to their traditional eggs, Leggo's Alpha Bits, Seattle's Best, Thomas' english muffins, cream of wheat-- or whatever else you are feeding on every morning.

Blog Quote #614...

Here's Blog Quote #614...
"You don't win because you do one or two things right. You win because you do 1000 little things right-- throughout the year."
-Susan Butcher, American dog musher-

Dog mushers, to athletes, to famous composers, actors, engineers, or scientists. Doesn't matter what profession, nor any age, gender, or creed. They'll all likely concur with this.

Steve Jobs, Michael Jordan, Henry Ford, and Steven Spielberg all knew- hard, consistent work- is the answer to success.

So does coach Mike Messere, entrepreneur Pat O' Toole, finance guru Greg Perry and paper/whole foods customer service king, Joe Petrin (all darn hard working success stories--CNY style).

A wise man once said--"There's no elevator to success. You have to take the stairs." We agree.
