Blog Quote #645

Here's blog quote #645...
"Ice cream fixes everything."
-Cherie Matthys-

This quote speaks for itself. It was also seconded, by ice cream mogul and expert, Scott Smith of Byrne Dairy fame.

Perhaps the next time there is trouble on the horizon, or a problem brewing, grab a cone and take a minute to ponder.  I've heard worse advice...

"Just one person taking action- can inspire others to do the same."
-Leslie Aguilar-

Perhaps this quote will inspire some of us. And that may just start the perfect chain reaction?

Blog Quote #643

Here's Blog Quote #643...
"The first requisite of a good citizen in this Republic of ours is that he shall be able and willing-- to pull his weight."
-Teddy Roosevelt, US president

Agreed 100%.

As far as I know, not many, if any, like a mooch, a leech, or someone that is lazy and sponges off one another, or the system.  You know them-- The guy who never buys a drink. The one who always eats dinner yet never picks up the tab. The ones who conveniently forgot their wallet.

The people, who take--take--take, and rarely give of much of anything.
Be on the lookout for these, and either mention something TO them, or AVOID them.

Blog quote #642...

Here's Blog Quote #642...
"When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail."
-The Original  Dr. Cruse Howe-

People only know what they know. When asking for advice, take that into consideration.

Race car drivers know how to drive fast, and handle pressure at great speeds; not write poetry.

Doctors know how to do surgery and what the latest prescriptions are that supposedly treat  conditions. They may not be up on all the alternative methods for optimal healing.

Real estate people know how to list and sell houses. They aren't specialists in deep sea diving.

Food for thought, when you are inquiring...

Blog Quote #641

Here's Blog Quote #641...
"There is nothing so stupid as an educated man, if you get off the thing that he was educated in."
-Will Rogers-

When I read this, I thought of my 23 yr old daughter who is often intimidated by others who have much more schooling than her 4 year degree. I always tell her :

There are book smart people. There are street smart people. Some are blessed with both.

Also-every person you meet, knows something that you don't know. All of us can learn something from another fellow human.

The world is too big, with gazillions of pieces of info to know.. so none of us are too smart for the next person. Always listen well, and see what you can learn from the other. With that stated don't be intimidated by others. If they know more in a few subjects than you do-- so what. Good for them. Chances are you more about another subject, than they do. Touche'

Like all else I life  the more time you spend at something the more experience and knowledge you gain. it doesn't make any of us better or worse than each other. Respect for all humans.

Blog Quote #640

Here's Blog quote #640...
"Do not regret growing older. It is a privilege denied to many."
-Charlie Phillips(photographer)-

This one is very self explanatory.

The next time you hear someone bellyaching about their age, or their position in life...might want to gently remind them of this quote. It's very powerful. And true!

Blog Quote #639...

Here's Blog Quote #639...
"A tax problem- is the best problem to have."
-John 'Duke' Kinney, insurance  legend

The tax 'problem Mr Kinney was talking about came up in context  over a discussion of hitting the lottery or coming into an unexpected windfall.  It's an exercise in the mind--immediately thinking of the negative tax cost, versus the positive pondering-of receiving some good fortune.Glass half full or half empty?

Another incident of a nice tax problem-- is when people say they had to pay the government a ton of money in taxes. The discussion of how much is a fair rate to pay for your wages, is always on the table.

Regardless, the having to pay a decent amount in taxes-- is usually a direct correlation that they had a pretty solid year, income wise.

Personally, I'd take the $88,000 winning lotto ticket, and gladly pay back $35k to Uncle Sam. It's still a net $53k-- for the good guys...

Blog Quote #638...

Here's Blog Quote #638...
"Success begins with totally believing  in yourself, understanding the val-u  that "u" have, the positive impact that "u" make in this world, and discovering that "u" already are- who"u" are trying to be."
-Chuck Bartlett, motivation guru-

Wow--powerful statement, with quite a bit going on here.
Since I'm a simple man, let's try to break this one down, in bites:

1.) Do you 100% believe in yourself?
2.) Do you understand the value that you have, and what you are to deliver, and why you are here on this planet?
3.) Do you recognize and totally grasp the positive impact that you make--in and on the world?
4.) Have you figured out who you are trying to be, where you are most comfortable, and what is the best use of your skills and talents( in real estate--often called "highest and best use.")

We agree that success will come...when we determine the answers to these 4 questions.
To get there, is another task in itself.  Bartlett has spelled out a very nice, albeit challenging homework assignment here. Are you up for taking it on?

The rewards of success await those who truly figure out these four questions. Nice work Chuck.

Blog Quote #637...

Here's Blog Quote #637...
"If I had a dollar for every time my dog made me smile, I would be a millionaire."
-MCAS Pets. org-

One of the truest statements I've ever read.

I have one change though--  "If I had a quarter for every time my dogs made me smile, I'd be a millionaire."

They truly are special creatures.  Ever notice what doG spelled backward reads..?

Those who don't own dogs, may or may not get this. Those dog owners out there-- this should resonate, clear as crystal.

Blog Quote #636...

Here's Blog Quote #636...
"Being the richest man in the cemetery doesn't matter to me."
-Stave Jobs-

A lesson from one of the smartest men on the 20th century.
It can be interpreted in many ways:
You can't take it with you...
Don't kill yourself over money...
Worshiping money doesn't mean anything in the long run...
Hmm...

I'll leave you to ponder your own conclusions, here...
