Quote #69, My Thoughts and YOUR thoughts

I love Quotes. I love them because they make me think. What does the quoter mean? Why did he/she write this? Is there a message to get through to the reader/the world? What did YOU initially think when you read it?

Here goes blog quote #69....

"People will accrept your ideas much more readily if you tell them Benjamin Franklin said it first."

-David Comins-

How come something is an excellent idea, or it's 'more believable' if it comes from a well known source? Aren't we all capable of coming up with ideas just as Franklin, Jefferson or Socrates could?

It reminds me of the so called 'experts'. Did you ever go to a conference and they tell you so and so is coming in from, say, Lexingtom Kentucky to speak? OOhhh! And they are also bringing in so and so from Billings, Montana. Doesn't it sound impressive? Yet the local successful business man who is speaking doesn't get the blood flowing quite so much. Is it the mystique of the unknown? Perhaps its the coolness of someone coming in from another place not near us?

So., next time you have something important to tell someone, say that you heard it from some famous person from Inglewood, California. They might just believe you!

That's my view.....WHAT SAY YOU?

I KNOW!!!! It is sooo silly. I used to belong to an optical group in Virginia. We had some awesome speakers, however they were not as well received there because they LIVED there. They are much more appreciated elsewhere in the country. Funny is it not?
