Quote #115, My Thoughts and YOUR thoughts

I love Quotes. I love them because they make me think. What does the quoter mean? Why did he/she write this? Is there a message to get through to the reader/the world? What did YOU initially think when you read it?Here goes blog quote #115....

"Adversity introduces a man to himself."
-Anonymous-

Wow...6 POWERFUL words. And in such brevity.

Ever hear of the line.. 'Let's see what this man's made of '? How about 'Time to see what she's got'? And the famous 'This is where the rubber meets the road'?

All cliches. All point to the fact that everyone is a good man when things are going right. Anyone can be a star during successes. When things get tough, when we face adversity, is when we really learn what we are made of on the inside. I think EVERYONE can attest to this, as, at some point in our lives, we all have faced some adversity.

As the quote says, it's a great way to meet yourself.... not face to face, but face to guts.

That's my view....... What say YOU?

Thanks for sharing this quote Tim. I agree with it. In adverse times there is usually some form of suffering or pain involved for us to be with, as you said, "meet". And when we choose to meet it versus resisting it, it becomes the inspiration for us to take the first step towards growth and change. Interesting to know that we can grow and change in a positive way from our pain/adversity.
