Quote #313, My Thoughts and YOUR thoughts

Here goes blog quote #313...

"A woman is like a tea bag.You never know how strong she is until she gets in hot water."
-Eleanor Roosevelt-

What a great analogy by the former first lady. No arguments from this guy. I have no ego and I'm certainly not a male chauvinist.

In my humble opinion, women are much tougher than guys. How about the birthing process for starters. Could there be anything more painful? Then that 'raising the kids thing' in the 0 to 18 age range. Yes us guys have to work to bring home the bread, but ask any man if he'd trade his job/career, for changing diapers, cooking, cleaning, and teaching them to read and write, along with everything else. Bet he wouldn't trade his 9 to 5 for Mr Mom. Yes dad's play a large part here, but it's likely fair to say, the majority of the burden falls on the women.

And we didn't even mention all the women who work a full job AND carry out the motherly responsibilites as well. And then there's that monthly thing. There's also woman's equality, which is getting much better at least in the states. To top it all off, they have to put up with us GUYS!

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. My vote goes with Ms. Roosevelt. Women are as tough as a Goodyear tire. Men? we're just guys. Tough on the outside, mallable on the inside.

That's my view...what say you?

I whole-heartedly back the quote!

However... in regards to your opinion. I don't think the strength of a woman should be compared to the strength of a man. Women have their strengths, as do men. And there were a lot of generalizations there. ;)

As a woman - thank you. I believe that most men would agree with you on this, though a very small percentage are man enough to admit to those feelings. Kudos to you

Tim - you are right on with this one!!!! Except for the birthing pain being the worst. Pancreatitis is WAY worse than birthing pain - I have experienced both and I would rather give birth to a whole litter of kids than have Pancreatitis again!

I like this one. I know that we have to be strong when we are put to the test. I am living proof of that. However, I am not a man basher either. Having all brothers, all sons, a great dad and a loving husband, I don't think guys are too bad. Of course, that still doesn't mean that I completely understand them though. :-) Thanks for the post - I love it!!!

All excellent feedback thusfar. By no means was this written to downgrade the male, as both species have their plusses and minuses.

It was written more to agree with Eleanor Roosevelt's comments of just how strong the woman can be. Physically, mentally and emotionally.

Hi Tim, I really enoyed reading your quotes. I am not a man basher either, and prefer most of the time to be around Men. Due to the fact, that Men are not catty like Women can be. Hopefully, I spelled that correctly. Thanks for sharing.
