He found 20 of each coin. Just add up the total of those 4 coins and divide $8.20 by that number! 25=10=5=1+41 8.20/.41=20 Thanks for making me use my ol' noggin!
ok, I came up w/ 20 each as well, but I didn't arrive at my answer the same way. I just thought about it for a few seconds and 20 each sounded like a good starting point, so I did the math and added it all up to $8.20. I've always been good w/ figures, especially making change (helps to have been a bank teller and cashier!). helping my 7th-grade son w/ his math homework is another matter though: I can come up w/ the answer he needs, but I don't know how to apply the formulas the school wants him to use!
I am good in math also and just figured that 20 sounded like a good starting point what with the cents being 20. I did the math and it all added up. Thanks for the fun!
