What a prolific statement. Any Dale Carnegie fans out there? Does this ring along with the statenment that man's greatest desire is the need to feel important? Along those lines, another famous psychologist William James said that people have a CRAVING to feel appreciated.
When you think about it, life really isn't all that complicated. The golden rule. Give others some attention and affection( or love or appreciation or whatever adjective you'd like to use). Be nice to others. Life seems to go pretty well when thses simple tactics are put into play.
That's my view...what say you?
