Quote #480

Here goes Blog Quote #480...
"Leadership is a potent combination of strategy and character. But if you must be without one, be without the strategy."
-Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf-

Think about it. A good strategy with no character... and what do you have? Not much. Even if it works out--you likely won't be able to sleep comfortably at night.

On the other hand, Good character with no strategy.. probably can live with that. And some of the times, even without a great plan, but good solid morals and ethics-- things somehow happen to turn out OK.

I believe Coach John Wooden said it best when he said... "Be more concerned with your character than your reputation. Your reputation is what other people think of you. Your character is WHO you really are."

Lose your character-- there truly isn't much else worth having, is there?

That's my view... what say you?

I say yes, exactly. Good character - to me it is of utmost importance. It is the foundation upon which everything else builds!

I agree. Character...it's the foundation upon which everything else is built.

Then I think about my boy, and others like him, cognitively disabled folk, and I wonder what character means for them.

I believe part of character is being GENUINE. Most cognitive disabled folk- there is no better genuineness than them, in my experiences.

Good comments all
Thank you.
