Quickness versus mistakes--worth the trade off?

Quite a bit packed into this in 5 short words. Slow down. Take our time. Stop multitasking. Get it right the first time.
The great Coach John Wooden always used to say "Be quick but don't hurry." His message was to get your craft down so you can do it at a good pace, without rushing. You can move swiftly, while at the same time, being patient. 
In the end, error usually costs double the time or more, and quite expensive as well. Get it done right. 
That's my view...what say you?
