Why most autobiographies are mostly positive...

If you think about it, most autobiographies are mostly positive about the writer. This is likely because he/she gets to choose the subject matter to share and discuss. 
Biographies might on the other hand, contain a larger picture of the overall human?  While the quotesmith here is likely drawing some humor,  like all sarcasm and wit, it might be truer than we'd like to think?  
That's my view...what say you?
