Here's Blog Quote #545...
There are those who pick apples, and those who talk about picking apples. Be an apple picker."
-Todd Oudemool-
People, like apples, come in all different shapes, sizes, and forms. Mr Oudemool's quote here is aimed at the talkers and the doers.
The doers simply get involved and do. Do is a verb, an action word.
Those that talk may be talking for a multitude of reasons. They could be dreaming. They could be complaining, They could be planning, or they could simple be making conversation. Some people just are uncomfortable with silence so they feel required to talk. Others may be gossiping, and still others may have the grandest intentions of doing something...someday.
Cutting through all the baloney and malarkey, we suggest a 3 word 'To Do' list.
Take action.
Do.
Notice how it's not a 'To talk about list.' It's a 'To DO list.'
Now--- go pick some apples.

Blog Quote #544
Here's Blog Quote #544...
"You don't get to choose how you are going to die. Or when.
You can only decide how you are going to live, now."
-Joan Baez-
This one of those self explanatory statements, that really causes one to stop and think.
And it's darn true.
We certainly cannot control the former, but we darn well can take charge of HOW WE LIVE.
This one is right in the palm of our hands and minds!
Live life. Now.
If not-- what the heck are you waiting for?
That's my view... what say you?

Blog Quote #543
Here;'s Blog Quote #543...
"A man who wants to lead the orchestra must turn his back on the crowd."
-James Crook-
Interesting comments here by Mr Crook. Not 100% certain his meaning behind the quote but here's how I interpreted it:
For leaders to be leaders they have to do what they think is right and what has to be done.
They cannot be so concerned with public opinion (hence 'turning their back' and leading by example and wisdom).
Pretty solid advice, if I'm correct, on the translation of the quote.
As always at the Smile Therapy Think Tank, we fully understand--that all quotes are subject to everyone's own interpretation, so we want to know what you thought here.
Thus our standard closing...

Blog Quote #542
Here's Blog Quote #542...
"Spectacular achievements are always preceded by unspectacular preparation."
-Roger Staubach-
Totally unflashy and unexciting--yet--very prophetic!
It's the cold hard truth, that behind the doors of success, lie tons of hard work, sweat and relentless preparation.
Anyone attempting to tell you otherwise, should be asked to take a polygraph test.

Here's Blog quote #541...
"Most men believe that it would benefit them if they could get a little more from those who have more. How much more would it benefit them if they would learn a little from those who know more."
-William J.H. Boetcker-
I believe what Mr Boetcker is stating here-- is that knowledge trumps money and material things every time.
I happen to agree.
How about you?

Here's Blog quote #540...
The more concerned we become over the things we CAN'T control, the less we will do with the things we CAN control."
-Coach John Wooden-
We love this quote because its so simple, and logical.
So... the point here is- if you can't control it, stop worrying about it.
No stress from things that you cannot impact in any way.
Concentrate, do the best you can, and focus all your efforts-- on things that you can have a profound effect on.
Just more brilliance, yet simplistic wisdom-- from the Coach.

Blog Quote #539
Here's Blog Quote #539...
A good scare is worth more than good advice."
-Ed Howe-
This plays into the hands of the old adage "Actions speak louder than words."
People can talk all they want and give great advice... however the listener may not act, or pay real close attention -- until something monumental happens.
Not saying it's right or wrong. Unfortunately -that's kind of how humans are. The wisest of men try to pay a tad more attention-- but still sometimes a scary event is the catalyst needed for action to be taken.
