For the less talented-- there is HOPE

Blog quote #776...

"What you lack in talent can be made up with desire, hustle, and giving 110% all the time." Don Zimmer--
Something to remember-for the underdogs, the 4th and 7th round drafters, and the last few picked for the kick ball game. Ask any coach who's been skippering more than a few years and they'll  be sure to  a.)not only agree with this, but b.) likely have a few stories to go with it.
Pass it on as inspiration, as motivation, and also as a pretty solid fact of life, that everyone should be aware of. Dig, dig, dig it out. Hustle. Go, go, go.

Do you UNDERSTAND this? Are you sure?

Blog quote #775...

"If you have an important point to make, don't try to be subtle or clever. Use a pile driver. Hit the point once. Then come back and hit it again. Then hit it a third time- a tremendous whack." -Winston Churchill-
Hoping that you got the point of this quote- to be sure to get your message across. Don't dilly-dally or beat around the bush, but be sure to be clear about what you want to say. Then do it again, and be sure to circle back another time...for extra clarity and conciseness.
Get the picture? Does this make sense about being sure to make your point. Did we make it vivid to make ourselves crystal clear here? Capiche?

Holy guacamole! What do I do now?

Blog quote #774...

"Being young is greatly overestimated...any failure seems so total. Later on, you realize you can have another go." -Mary Quant-
To all the teenagers, youth, and newly graduated out there, take heed of this message. Most things that happen, no matter how bad they seem at the time, are NOT the end of the world.
Quite to the contrary, most things  a week or a month later, don't mean a hill of beans. Have a little trust  in us adults on this one. For when you get older and look back, you'll likely be sharing this same advice...with your youth.
Thanks Mary, for a superb quote and observation.

A different way...to PEACE

Blog quote #773...

"You cannot shake hands with a clenched fist." -Indira Gandhi-
Perhaps the great Indian philosopher was suggesting for all of us to get along and mend fences rather than getting angry at each other.
A very creative and effective message, to get his point across.

Avalanches...and responsibility for them?

Blog quote #772...

"No snowflake in an avalanche ever feels responsible." -Stanislaw Jerzy Lec-
This thought is just downright clever. Things that immediately came to mind were  'I only did a little,'  'contributing factor,' and  'not talking too much here, just a bit...'
But at the end of the day, a lot of a little--can do much (both good, and in this case, very damaging).
The sum of the total here is this:  If you are part of the team, regardless of how little, you are part of the responsibility as well. Again, that could be a great thing, or, it might spell trouble.
A very mind provoking quote here. Bravo!

To get REVENGE, have you tried this?

Blog quote #771...

"There is no revenge so complete, as forgiveness." -Josh Billings-
The best way to get back at someone, to draw even with them...is to forgive them. What? Really? It disarms them. Confuses their noggin. It breaks the anger/fight barrier.
It's being the bigger person, and, in the end, it brings two people closer together versus farther apart.
It's one of life's best kept secrets. First, go try it. Second, spread the word!

about AWESOME PEOPLE...

Blog quote #770...

"A beautiful face will age and a perfect body will change, but an awesome person will always be an awesome person." -Seen on a poster-
Find friends and long term companions with good hearts and quality character. All the rest is a bonus, and is clearly second fiddle in importance, in the grand scheme of things.
